Opta Grand Reserve Red 2015, Opta Reserve Red 2014 and Opta Encruzado 2017 were distinguished as “very good, with personality and complexity”, having obtained scores between 16 and 17, in a scale of up to 20, in the 15th edition, July 2018, by Vinho Grandes Escolhas Magazine, one of the most influential wine magazine in Portugal.

Opta Grand Reserve Red 2015 scored 17 points. Described as a wine that makes the difference, we leave below the complete transcript of the tasting notes: “Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz. Medicinal notes of eucalyptus and menthol attack the nose vigorously. With super soft tannins, it is a spicy wine and very elegant, the pull for wild fruits and thermal sensation, a paradox that suits you. A wine that makes a difference “.

Opta Reserve Red 2014 won 16.5 points and the distinction of “Good Choice 2018”. This wine was considered interesting. The evidence notes were as follows: “Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Alfrocheiro. Expressive red fruits conjugate with tobacco and greens in a fresh nose. Medium-bodied, it turns out to be round with dark chocolate, vegetables and fresh fruit to form a very interesting set “.

Opta Encruzado 2017 has reached the 16 points and promises to grow in bottle. The jury considered this wine still citrusy, with apple and pear praising the nose. Straight, it reveals some creaminess, bringing us the pear back, now more expressive. Vegetable and pineapple notes are prolonged on the palate, in soft wine that will grow in a bottle“.
